Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams (1902 - 1984) is one of my favourite photographers that inspired me to take up photography. Here is some information about Ansel Adams's life and his works. Adams was born in San Francisco, California. Adams was an only child, his mother was nearly forty when she has Adams. As he grew up, about twelve years old he self taught himself to play the piano and read music.

Adams had a love for nature and this grew in the Golden Gate, his life was, in his words "colored and modulated by the great earth gesture" of the Yosemite Sierra. Every year up until his death in he spent substantial time there this was from 1916. This is when he began using a camera Kodak No. 1 Box Brownie. This was also where Adams meet his wife and were married in 1928 and produced two children.
In 1927 Adams meet a photographer who became an important part of his life as colleagues and friends, Edward Weston was that photographer.
Here are some samples of Adams works:-

Both of these images and more you will find at:-

In both of these prints there is many tones, on fig 1 this has more depth and stronger tones than fig 2. Fig 2 is softer and got more contrast than fig 1. The bottom half of fig 1 seems to have more depth than the top half. With fig 2 this seems to be the other way round.

Adams is a Master of his works.
