Fashion Workshop

We had a day where we had a professional workshop, Talia White was the person who talked to us about doing a fashion shoot, Talia also brought along with her a model (Rosie).

She talked to us about what type of equipment she uses when doing a shoot. Also she went through the settings on the camera for the type of day we were having, like aperture, ISO and shutter speed.

The day was overcast with some sunny spells. The equipment that was used for the day was a reflector, so when doing a shoot, it is handy to have an assistant to help with the equipment.

Derbyshire

It has been another beautiful day again today (14th May 2016 - Saturday). I went up to Derby to visit my eldest daughter Jessica, we went and done some shopping then Jessica took me for lunch in a beautiful pub. The food was wonderful also the setting where the Public house was situated, I took my camera along with me and got some really great shots, hope you like them.

 

                                                         

Filters.

Today we done about filters and what they are used for and the different types of filters that can be used. I did not realise there was so many filters that can be used for film and digital cameras, for all different occasions and different types of weather. This I was really interested in, I will be checking out what filters I have at home and try them out on different subjects and different times of the day, so look out for the final images.

Pinhole photos

At last I have managed to reduce the size of my scans so they can be put on my blog at long last. As you can see with the three under exposed pinhole images there is not much to see. With the last pinhole photo there is something to see. This photo I was quite pleased with but it still could of had more contrast and depth of field. With the mistakes that I have done I can learn from that and make sure I am not under the cover of tree's.

Pinhole

At last I have managed to get on-line after trying for several hours. Today at college was a enjoyable day, as we learnt more about the Camera Obscura and Pinhole cameras.
 I did four exposures all at different times, the first three I images I was not happy with as they were all under exposed. I started at 10 seconds, then 15 seconds and 25 seconds. While I was developing the images I realised the reason why they were under exposed was because I had quite a few tree's behind me and this was blocking the sun. The last go I had at Pinhole I decided to move location and the difference was amazing. The very last pinhole that I took turned out to be the best, at least I think so. There was a lot more contrast to the final image I produced. I have tried to download the images for you all to see but I seem to be having a bit of difficulty in doing this. I have the negative and positive images to show you all, I will try again tomorrow and hope I have more luck.

Flash

Today we have learnt how to work with a separate flash (speedlite flash that you attach to your camera)this project was taken outdoors.
While we were using the flash we changed the settings and also used a diffuser, this was to see the difference between the photos at different setting and with or without a diffuser. When looking at the final photos you could see the difference with the change of settings. Below you can see the outcome of the difference images, as you can see there are images that are over exposed and under exposed.

Taking these photos at different exposure levels with the Speedlite Flash, i can see the difference between each image.There are several images that are over exposed and others under exposed.

On-line at last

Well here I am at last, oh what problems I have had with my internet it has caused me nothing but problems. My internet connection keeps going on and off all the time and what a pain it is as I keep having to reset my internet box, well I am on-line for now at least.
I hope everyone has had a good bank holiday, I hope it has been better than mine. LOL!

I have been doing some work on Lightroom and turning some photos silver and placing them together, I hope you like it.

There were several other techniques that I also learnt, but this was in the dark room. This we were using black & white photos with filters in the enlarger (split grade printing), this I found really interesting. Below is the final image that I produced by doing this technique;-

It's been awhile sience I posted anything on here, I must start being more orgainized & post more often. College is going great I'm still enjoying the course, it's hard work but enjoyable. It's nearly Xmas time & I haven't got a thing for anyone for Xmas yet as its a tight year this year, but it's not all about gifts it's the love we share for one another. Happy Xmas to all X.

Wednesday morning, still got no hot water or heating I'm waiting for someone to come out and sort it, this is from yesterday early afternoon, it freezing in here. I've been up most the night waiting still no one has turned up yet.
While I am waiting for repair man to turn up I am going to sorting my photos from the exhibition I went to on Monday. I have started my write-up for our assignment, so I will carry on and try and do as much as I can.
I am going to be late going into college as still waiting for my heating to be fixed, if I'm not in and they turn up I get charged for it and I don't want that. Well I must go as go to do some work on my assignment.

It's still Monday, it has been a really long day today. We done some black and white photos this morning, I was hoping to develop my film but chemicals were not ready and won't be done till Wednesday, so I hope I can get me film done then.
Went to an exhibition this afternoon with Susan on of my class associates, we went into Birmingham centre, Steelhouse Lane and saw the exhibition at Fountain Court. It was called Voices, this I found very interesting it was worth going, to see other peoples reflection on life.
